Grouchy Greenie Beanie Pattern

As promised, here's my pattern for a "Grouchy Greenie" who, surprisingly, looks like the Grinch. I hope you like him! Stay safe and warm, Merry Christmas and God Bless!
((NOTE: you can use any cap/beanie pattern you choose.
As long as it's a tight weave and fits, it's okay! o.~))

  • small amount of black and yellow yarn for the face
  • Size I/9 (5.5 mm)  and H/8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook

Switch to the size H crochet hook for the following facial features.

Row 4. 2 SC in next two stitches; 1 Hdc in next six stitches; 2 SC in next stitch; 1 SC in next two stitches; slip stitch into last stitch. Tie off leaving a long tail for sewing to cap.

Nose
With black, follow directions for making the pupil.
Stitch the middle together (but not too tight) making a lop-sided figure 8. (see pics)

Mouth
With black, chain 50. Tie off leaving a long tail for sewing to cap.
Attach to cap in a "crooked" grin. (see pics)

Using the long tail, sew the facial features onto the cap with the embroidery needle. Or, if you prefer, use a sewing needle with color matching thread. Weave in any tails very well so they don't slip out!
