And This Week ...

Image
The Crochet Front has been relatively quiet here this week. Which is nice after the holiday rush. All I've been doing is making hats for the cancer center and/or homeless shelter. Not all of the hats have buttons but a few of them will have. I'm attempting to downsize my button jar, it's really full and won't hold anymore until I do! So in order to get more buttons I have to make room. As you can see, I'm using up smaller ends of yarn skeins and just trying to use up the extras from the shopping I did for holiday orders. I also have to make room in this huge pile of yarn I have if I want to get anymore. One order I completed this week is an Infinity Scarf. I had no specific instructions from the customer other than, "Make it ME". I decided on the Artfully Simple Infinity Scarf from Moogly . I've made one before and really enjoyed how it looked when I was finished. Here's the result from that project (keep in mind that this photo does NO...

A Blanket pattern and a Challenge!

Image
So I've finished one blanket for my soon-to-be-here grand-baby. A simple pattern that works up quick and looks great. I love the lacy feel and how delicate it looks, especially in the Baby Ombre color from Bernet . Here's a quick rundown of the pattern I used, I kinda made it up as I went so errors may be rampant! LoL Pattern: (using a size G/4.25mm hook) Row 1 : Chain 113, Single Crochet in second chain from hook and across. Chain 3 and turn. Row 2 : Double Crochet, chain 2, Double Crochet in the next stitch. (V-stitch). Skip 2 stitches, repeat V-stitch in next stitch. *Skip 2 stitches, repeat V-stitch in next stitch.* Repeat from * to * across, ending with Double Crochet in last stitch. Chain 3 and turn. Rows 4-? : Repeat Row 2 until blanket reaches desired length. Chain 1 and turn. Last Row : Single Crochet in each stitch across. Leave yarn attached for trim <OR> if you're changing colors, tie off and weave in ends. Trim (if using a different color...

Corner-to-Corner

Image
So, here recently, I've been seeing people post about their "c2c" project. I was thinking to myself "what the heck is that?" but do I ever say that out loud. Well, no. I was telling everyone posting "Good Luck!" I finally decided to look up a pattern (and video, I love videos). Let me say something, once I got the hang of it, I now have a better understanding of why everyone was so ga-ga over this pattern. It's fantastic! Quick, easy and looks great. Here's a pic of what I'm working on, and if you can't tell it's a baby blanket. I'm going to give it to my oldest daughter for my first grand-baby. (Yay!)  There's only 6 rows so far. After I started this one I went bowling with a group of friends and then had a doctors appointment this morning, so I'll be back at it after I'm finished with this post. Links to the pattern and video I used are below the pics. Have a great week, and please don't forget; wint...
