Are you interested in contests? Especially ones where you could be the winner of  . . .  * gasp*  . . .   YARN ! If that sounds like you, then join me and others in the Design Your Own Wig Contest over at Posh Pooch Designs Dog Clothes . You could make yours for your pooch I suppose but the pattern is written for kids and adults and there are some spectacular entries so far. YOU STILL HAVE TIME! Entry deadline is September 19 with the winner being chosen on September 30. I'm glad I don't have to pick the winner, I'd have to pick 2 or 3 different ones because all the entries I've seen (you can look at some over on her Facebook page!) have been so good. I thought this would be a great way (not to mention get an early start) on a Halloween costume so I made one with a  retro 80's vibe. I love it! What surprised me was when my 18 year old son said, "That's cool"!! Imagine that!! My youngest daughter has already staked a claim for it =D ...

If you've read my blog before today you've most likely come across a comment or two where I mention how much I love to browse the internet for ideas and inspiration. I don't lust after other good looking men, I do however, lust after crochet works of beauty that others have made. I'm continuing my work on the Crochet Crowd June Challenge and it's coming along, I suppose, as best it can considering my condition. What condition is that, you ask? Well I'm sure you know someone with Crochet Attention Deficit Disorder . I know you probably haven't been diagnosed by a professional physician or psych...

Challenge Issue #1: Frustration

I was wondering how many of you participate in crochet challenges. So I thought I'd ask. Do you do it often? Just when it strikes your fancy or is a project that you can't pass up? Do you only do them if there's a prize awarded? I've done Crochet-a-longs, amigurumi of the month, granny square swaps, and things like that in the past but I don't recall doing a challenge. When I got the email newsletter from The  Crochet Crowd and saw their new challenge (that doesn't start until June 1st) I knew I had to look into it. Why? Because I already had that pattern from the Red Heart newsletter printed out and ready to go as a gift for my mom! Her birthday is in November and while she lives in Florida it does get chilly. This motif shawl is perfect for her!  If you're interested, the link to the pattern is above but the challenge is on the Crochet Crowd website. I highly recommend signing up for their newsletter so you can keep updated on all the great stuff hap...
