Spring Crochet

Image
Crocheting in the winter seems like a no-brainer, doesn't it? Using warm and fuzzy yarn to make hats, scarfs and blankets keeps us warm as we're making them. Several times through this winter season I've had to lay my work aside to cool off! One time I had sweat running down my back!  So what about the rest of the year? Spring and Summer are excellent times to work on projects a piece at a time. Granny squares and other motifs are great for warm weather crocheting. As you can see from this picture, I've been busy! What you can't see (because I've got them in storage) is the sixty-eight 2 round Granny Squares that I made with a size H hook. I love making the squares as well as other motifs, what I hate is joining them all together >.< I hope to add a black border around these squares then I'm going to try the " Carina " method of joining. I'm not sure what the actual name of this method is but I love the way it looks. Maybe I...

Cute and Interesting Things to FInd

Image
I love looking around the internet and finding the creations of other crafters! Their works are inspiration for the things I make. How about you? Do you find yourself seeing things from other crafters and feeling inspired? Does an intricate Irish crochet lace doily make you want to delve into that type of hooking? Take a look at this ... How about something like this? Cute and interesting beanies are always popular, especially if they're of a topic/movie that's hot at the time or a classic. To me Jack is classic. This I saw on Crochet D Lane . Now while this blog isn't strictly a crochet blog, there are some beautiful items on there and I think an Etsy shop but daily chores started calling my name and I didn't have time to browse through that shop. Then there is ...

Ice Cream Beanie with Pattern

My tooth is out! And I am feeling much better. Thank you so much for the thoughts and comments of well wishes. Now I'm not one that loves going to a dentist. I'd rather do almost anything else BUT I was so happy to have found a dentist that knows how to interact with someone who is afraid of people with sharp metal objects that prowl around inside your mouth.  I'm feeling so much better that I have a new beanie pattern for you today. I had these colors on hand and I absolutely love the way it looks! It reminds me of Neapolitan Ice Cream. What do you think?
