Baby booties, Countdown and Donating!

I'm still making and swapping Granny Squares and I received a few in the mail that I'll share with you. But today my main focus is ..... Did you make 5 hats and donate them? Hmmmm?

Well, if you didn't I can understand. Labor Day and back to school are busy, busy times. And the beginning of Christmas Present Making Season is upon us! There are only 110 DAYS until Christmas is upon us! So that makes most of us crafters Busy to the Nth power! But I still encourage you to take the time to help others.

I did make hats and donate them, but mine went to the Cancer Center here in town. I'm told they were very excited and appreciative of the gift. Doing something like that brings a satisfaction that's comforting, I like to imagine that's the feeling Christ had when He performed miracles for nothing in return. But I like to imagine a lot of things (like me winning the lottery!).

I also managed to get a baby bootie pattern that was quick and easy. Those are my kinds of patterns in case you didn't know. It's the Simple Crossover Bootie available on Ravelry. It's a free pattern and was written pretty well. and in case you aren't on Ravelry already, it's a site dedicated to knit and crochet patterns; free to join and has a boat-load of things available.

If you're on Ravelry and want to "friend" me, my name there is Care2002. I'd be happy to "friend" you back! And there are plenty of free projects on Ravelry for you to pick from, make one (or 5) and donate to a charity in your area.

Today I'll leave you with a quote to ponder over.

“Love is not patronizing and charity isn't about pity, it is about love.
Charity and love are the same -- with charity you give love,
so don't just give money but reach out your hand instead.”
~ Mother Teresa

Peace and blessings!
~~Karen~~

PS: I have a Facebook page and I'm trying to get 100 Likes so I can offer a free drawing for one of my own patterns. So stop over and say hello, like the page and once I get 100 I'll post for the drawing! It's Crochet2002!

The Granny Squares I promised!
