Frozen Has Taken Over!

Image
Have you seen all the Frozen themed crochet items out there? OF COURSE YOU HAVE! You'd have to be living in a cave without internet to NOT have seen all the lovely crochet items from the animated movie, Frozen. How many of you have had someone ask you to make something for them? I'm sure a LOT of you have. As have I. Personally, I haven't seen the movie. I hear it's good and plan on renting it just to say that I've seen it. I have loved the things I've made from this movie. Some of them are replicas from the movie and some are "inspired". Here's what I've made so far and I will link patterns if it had one. Two of the three items I free-handed. This is one of the most recognizable characters from the movie. This hat was made to resemble  the the character Olaf. He's just so stinking cute! This is in reference to the character Anna. I followed the pattern available at Over The Apple Tree . Love the addition of the ...

Do You Have Questions About Crochet?

Image
Several of us have questions about crochet. Even those of us that have been doing it for YEARS still have questions from time to time. So looking for answers to those questions is a lot of what goes on when a crafter is browsing the internet. ELK Studios has a post that answers some questions that are common in the crocheting world. Below is a link to her post and I wanted to share that with you today.  Peace and blessings to you all, ~~Karen~~ Please follow this link to her blog post and get answers to these commonly asked questions. Ragamuffin Mitts with Pattern

Image
This time of year I'm a bit prone to achy joints, especially my wrists. You can guess from that how much I love fingerless gloves. This is a pair I made last night. I was just crocheting while watching TV and <BOOM> they were done! It took about 2 hours including the time it took to weave in all the ends and make adjustments for a better fit. Now these are no where near glamorous but they are comfortable and they will keep your wrists nice and warm and loose for hours of crafting work! The instructions are easy to follow and this would make a good project for the beginning crocheter.  The Ragamuffin Mitts Pattern is available as a PDF download through Ravelry. Mourning a Loss

Some of you may have noticed that I didn't post last Thursday. That's my normal "blog-posting" day. I didn't forget, I just didn't feel it. Ever have those days? I'm sure you do, it's pretty universal. On September the 18th, the last day I posted, I received a phone call telling me that my daddy was gone. So I've been hedging at making a post. I feel as though maybe I should have dived right into my crochet and made something! Made a lot of somethings!! But I didn't. I couldn't. I couldn't stand to have the hook in my hand. I still don't understand that. I could barely motivate myself enough to get out of bed. Sisters and family being here helped a lot with the motivation I needed to get through the last couple of weeks. You see, September 29th was Dad's birthday. He would have been 72. My two adorable nieces, Gemma who's 3 and Anna who is 4 months, were both here and how can you NOT get motivated when Gemma runs rig...
